Our Contract & Policy
1. Purchase, Deposit & Pickup
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a pick position and will be applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining balance is due when the puppy reaches the week he/she turns (8) weeks of age, at which time the buyer must pay the remaining balance, select their puppy and take the puppy home. Pick order is determined by the order deposits are received. Failure to pay the remaining balance or pick up the puppy by eight (8) weeks of age will result in forfeiture of the deposit and the puppy, and Texas Rottweilers may resell the puppy at its discretion. If no puppy is available due to litter size, gender preference or nature beyond Texas Rottweilers efforts to raise healthy happy puppies, the buyer will be moved to the next available litter.
NO CASH REFUNDS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. NO EXCEPTIONS.
2. Ownership, Care & Liability
Ownership transfers upon full payment and pickup. The buyer agrees to provide proper housing, food, water, training, exercise, socialization, and veterinary care, including vaccinations and parasite prevention. The dog may not be chained, kept solely outdoors, fought, sold, or traded. Once the puppy leaves the breeder’s care, The buyer assumes all responsibility and liability for the dog. Texas Rottweilers are not liable for injuries, damages, behavioral issues, or legal claims.
3. Return-to-Breeder Policy
If the buyer cannot keep the dog at any time, Texas Rottweilers must be contacted first. The breeder retains the right of first refusal and will take the dog back or assist with rehoming. The dog may not be surrendered to a shelter, rescue, pound, pet shop, laboratory, or third party. No refunds will be given for returned dogs.
4. Registration, Naming & Breeding
AKC registration paperwork will be provided at pickup. The buyer may choose the puppy’s call name; However, the puppy’s official AKC registered name must include “Texas Rottweilers.” Example (Nova Texas Rottweilers) The puppy is sold as a pet only with limited AKC registration. Breeding is prohibited without prior written authorization from Texas Rottweilers. Any unauthorized breeding constitutes a material breach of this agreement and may result in the breeder taking the dog back or the buyer may be responsible for paying the breeder fee which is different then the pet fee. Should a buyer ever want to upgrade their AKC status from limited to open, Texas Rottweilers can upgrade it on the AKC website once the breeder fee has been paid. This includes the Breeder fee and any filing fees.
5. Health Guarantee
Texas Rottweilers provides a 1-year genetic health guarantee covering hip/elbow dysplasia, severe congenital heart defects, and JLPP..
Minor conditions, parasites, injuries, neglect, or environmental/weight-related issues, and easty westy are excluded from this coverage as these are all correctable and preventable. The guarantee applies only if the buyer provides regular veterinary care and follows all policies in this agreement.
If a life-threatening hereditary defect is confirmed within one year (necropsy required if applicable),
The puppy must be returned to the breeder (If Alive) and a replacement puppy of equal value will be provided. No cash refunds are ever given. Proof of default and all veterinary care should be emailed to TexasRottweilersClub@gmail.com.
6. Entire Agreement
This document serves as the complete agreement between Texas Rottweilers and the Buyer. No other terms or promises apply unless they’re put in writing and signed by both parties.
These terms — including the health warranty — apply only to the specific puppy named in this contract and cannot be transferred to any other dog or person. By signing the AKC Registration & Contract Acknowledgement Form, the Buyer confirms they’ve reviewed this agreement, understand it, and agree to the terms.
